CirCuS CiTy The Circus Arts Slide Show contains images of the Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner Middle School students performing in CirCus City on March 4, 2007 at Simon's Rock College in Great Barrington. The theme of this circus is a day spent in a city, with skits including firemen, policemen, street workers, taxi drivers, and socialites walking their dogs. You will see jugglers, unicyclists, tumblers, acrobats, clowns, stilt walkers and special guest appearances by Roger the Jester and Christopher Sblendorio. Circus Arts Circus arts are part of the physical education curriculum at the Steiner School. Through activities like tumbling and acrobatics children are encouraged to experience and gain an awareness of the space around them. When students feel comfortable moving in their bodies as well as extending into the space around them, their strength is felt both physically and emotionally. Through these activities, along with games and sports, children can learn to meet one another, and the challenges that the world brings to them, with confidence. Capacities as an adult to be flexible, lead a balanced life, help and support others and juggle life's tasks are exercised as a child through the circus arts. For admissions information about current or upcoming school years, please call the Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School Admissions Office at (413) 528-4015, ext. 106 or fill out the Admissions Inquiry Form in the Admissions section of this website. Ask for a current calender, fee schedule, and application. You may also request a visit to meet with the teachers and tour the classrooms. |
