Getting Involved

Waldorf educator Rene Querido said that parents "create a mantle of warmth around a school." There are many ways to do so:

  • Assisting teachers with special events.

  • Getting involved in Holiday Handcraft Fair workshops and activities.

  • Helping with our phonathon and other fundraising activities.

  • Welcoming new families to the school through our open houses.

  • Joining our Parent Association.

  • Continuing contact with our alumni.

  • Sharing your strengths and expertise through active participation on a variety of committees.

Many friendships begin with a crafts workshop or a committee meeting, and our children always benefit when parents are involved. If you're looking for ways to be more involved in the school, please feel free to come by the Advancement Office and talk.

“My daughter and several of her classmates from Steiner graduated from the public high school last year. One was senior class president, one was the director of the school musical, one was co-captain of the girl's varsity soccer and basketball teams. They have the skills they need - for academic work, or for sports, or music - but they have something else too, something that's hard to put your finger on. They have an inner strength. These kids are leaders.”

“I was so glad to find a community that whole-heartedly supported our own efforts to limit my daughter's exposure to television and other media."
