Parent Toddler Circle

December 19th, 2008 by helen

Parent/Toddler Circle meets once a week, and is an opportunity for young children (ages two to three-and-a-half) and their parents to experience the rhythms of a Waldorf kindergarten morning.

In the inviting environment of a Waldorf classroom, parents engage in home-like activities or make simple crafts while their children help them or play nearby. Circle and story time reflect the world of nature and seasonal festivals. Parents have an opportunity to share parenting skills and concerns in discussion with an experienced kindergarten teacher.

Sessions of eight weeks each are offered in the Fall, Winter and Spring. During the 2009 – 2010 School Year, the Parent Toddler Circles are:

Session I:

  • Thursday, September 17 – November 5
  • Friday, September 18 – November 6

“Parents today are bombarded with ideas about raising children. They really want to talk, to explore the questions that all parents have in common. As teachers, we offer our experience, we provide information and encouragement. Parents recognize intuitively what is right for their children. We all learn from sharing our insights and observations.”
