Parent Toddler Circle

Parent/Toddler Circle meets once a week, and is an opportunity for young children (ages two to three-and-a-half) and their parents to experience the rhythms of a Waldorf kindergarten morning.

In the inviting environment of a Waldorf classroom, parents engage in home-like activities or make simple crafts while their children help them or play nearby. Circle and story time reflect the world of nature and seasonal festivals. Parents have an opportunity to share parenting skills and concerns in discussion with an experienced kindergarten teacher.

Sessions of eight weeks each are offered in the Fall, Winter and Spring. During the 2011 – 2012 School Year, the Parent Toddler Circles are:

Fall Session:

  • Monday, October 17 – December 5, 2011

Winter Session:

  • Monday, January 23 – March 19, 2012 (no class February 20)

Spring Session:

  • Monday, March 26 – May 21, 2012 (no class April 16)

For more information about current or upcoming sessions, please call the Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School Office at (413) 528-4015, ext. 0.  You may also request a visit to meet with the  Early Childhood teachers and tour the classrooms. Parents today are bombarded with ideas about raising children. They really want to talk, to explore the questions that all parents have in common. As teachers, we offer our experience, we provide information and encouragement. Parents recognize intuitively what is right for their children. We all learn from sharing our insights and observations.
