GBRSS is a member of the Northeast-Quebec Region of AWSNA, the Association of Waldorf Schools in North America. The Northeast-Quebec Region and the Mid-Atlantic Region are holding a joint conference at our school entitled The Awakening Self: Sleeping and Breathing in Adolescence. The conference will begin the evening of Friday, October 16, continue through Saturday and culminate at noon on Sunday, October 18. Dr. Steve Sagarin, our Waldorf High School Faculty Chair and teacher, will be leading a working session on Saturday afternoon. Registration is required and members of our community can attend for a reduced fee of $75. Even though the conference is designed for high school and upper grades teachers, other interested adults are welcome. If people are interested in more details, they are welcome to contact Marilyn Ruppart, Faculty Administrator, at the school.

Each year Berkshire South Community Center honors community members who have contributed significantly to the larger Great Barrington community. This year the honoree is Bob Norris. As many of you may know, Bob was a class teacher here and has made significant contributions to our school in innumerable ways. Berkshire South is taking this opportunity to honor educators in our area, as well as Bob, three of whom are current faculty members here. They are Mark
Eurich, Michelle Kuzia and Krista Palmer. Our teachers, along with twelve others, will be recognized at an Opening Reception at Berkshire South on Tuesday, October 6th between 5:30 and 7:30 pm. All parents, alumni, and friends of GBRSS are invited to attend and participate in this joyous celebration. There is not a charge for this event.
