At the Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School, education is the beginning of a lifetime voyage of discovery.
We are committed to offering our students a rigorous classical education in preparation for the most demanding high schools and colleges. Meeting students at each stage of their development, our curriculum fully integrates the fine and practical arts with the sciences, mathematics, literature, and the study of our cultural heritage - from its foundations in myth and legend to the study of modern history.
The Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School is one of over 1,000 Waldorf schools, a worldwide movement of independent schools founded over 80 years ago by Rudolf Steiner. At the heart of the Waldorf philosophy is the belief that education is an art. Everything that is taught must speak to the child's experience and imagination.
The Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School is an independent coeducational school, accredited by the Association of Independent Schools of New England, and is a member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America. The school serves 240 students from pre-K through eighth grade, from Berkshire County, northwest Connecticut and Columbia County. We welcome students without regard to race, creed or national origin.
